都市の中に、ふと呼吸を整えられる“山小屋”のような居場所をつくりたい。
THE PORTAL Iidabashi のエントランスとファサードは、そんな思いからデザインをスタートしました。
ファサードには、山の稜線を思わせる漆喰のグラフィックを施し、都市の中に自然の気配を描いています。
荒々しい掻き落とし仕上げの壁は、岩肌や地層のような質感を生み、無機質になりがちなオフィスエントランスに、静かな温度感を与えています。
エントランス内部では、柔らかな間接照明と自然素材の質感が訪れる人を包み込み、まるで山小屋に灯る暖かな光のように、街の喧騒から心を切り替える時間を演出します。
ガラスのアートは、山小屋の帽子掛けから着想を得たもので、旅人を迎え入れるような象徴的な存在として配置しました。
既存の空間構成を活かしながらも、素材や光、ディテールを丁寧に再編集することで、現代的でありながら流行に左右されない、普遍的な空間を目指しています。
オフィスへ向かうための通過点ではなく、
街の中で人々が心を整え、静かに休息できる“都市の山小屋”のようなアイコンとなることを意図したデザインです。
We envisioned the entrance and façade of THE PORTAL Iidabashi as an urban retreat — a place that feels like a mountain lodge quietly nestled within the city.
The façade features plaster-crafted mountain silhouettes, expressing the presence of nature within the urban landscape.
The rough scraped-texture walls evoke the ruggedness of rock faces and geological layers, bringing warmth and tactility to an otherwise inorganic office environment.
Inside the entrance hall, soft indirect lighting and natural material textures gently embrace visitors, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of the warm glow found inside a mountain cabin.
The glass art installation was inspired by the hat racks often seen in mountain lodges, serving as a symbolic gesture of hospitality that welcomes people like travelers arriving at a resting place.
While respecting and utilizing the existing architectural framework, the space has been carefully re-edited through light, materiality, and detailing to create an environment that feels both contemporary and timeless.
Rather than functioning merely as a passage into an office building,
the design aspires to become an iconic place of quiet pause within the city — an urban mountain lodge where people can momentarily reset and breathe.
